ABs Coach Smith Idiot !

   ABs Coach Smith….

I mean are you serious you plonker !

Source1: All Blacks: Ranger at Superman fitness, says Smith

Source2: Winning could be All Blacks’ worst enemy, warns Smith

This guy has so much computer charts and stats he cant see the forest for all the trees he looks at.

Older ABs coaches must be laughing so loud, after all the ABs have won games for 100 years before computers, and IT’S NOT DIFFERENT THIS TIME as rugby players are just lads to like to chase a pig skin ( ask Laurie Mains) .

Smith has been in charge of sputter of a ABs back line for 10 years, and he still has not go the ABs backs working like the Aussie back line some years back ( ie Gregan, Larkham, Giteau, Mortlock etc , thats the best backline in 10 years, yes shut it up, it is !)

Smith should bugger off to coach rugby in Alaska !

Feel the sense of desperation at the ARU !

AUSTRALIAN Rugby Union boss John O’Neill has given a blunt warning that one of the football codes might not survive. He reckons it will come down to the survival of rugby union or rugby league, not both.

O’Neill said yesterday that league and union need to protect their own backyards as much as concentrate on interstate and overseas expansion because of the crowded marketplace and aggressive pursuit of new territories by the AFL and soccer.

” I mean, competition is about survival. Rugby league and rugby union actually are the two games that are very similar. Rugby league is celebrating 100 years of its existence. I’m not talking about reunification of the two games, but in this battle for hearts and minds, there is a risk that one of us may slip off the list.

“I don’t intend for it to be rugby union, I’m not intending for it to be rugby league. But I think we know there is a gorilla in the room called AFL and we know, I know, that football is the big mover and shaker – and therefore, I think rugby league and rugby union are going to have to fight very hard to maintain our positions, particularly in the eastern states.”

My Comments:  If you have ever wondered why the ARU is blindly supportive of ELV rugby, the above desperation comments from John O’Neill must seal it for you. I am not against the ELVs, I like them with changes (see my page called My ELV Amendments ). The ELVs is the ARUs great white hope for competing with NRL and ARL, and survival.

Dan Carter rule, very naughty!

If the “Daniel Carter Option” that allows the great five-eighth to go to France for six months, earn $1.4 million and then return to play for the All Blacks in June 2009 isn’t a done deal, it should be.

The rule that a player (or a coach, for that matter) has to be involved in the Super 14 tournament is sound, as far as it goes.

But in exceptional cases, where a once-in-a-lifetime player is concerned and a special deal can be arranged, then the rule should be adjusted.

The point about Daniel Carter is that he is not leaving New Zealand rugby for a number of years. It’s a matter of months, only.

Are you freaking kidding me !

  • i) He has done nothing that confirms GREAT, he’s no C Meads or M Jones.
  • ii) He has potential, that’s all, but if he does not play internationals he will never get the ‘great’ tag, and that should be up to him, why let him hedge his bets, let him choose the money or forever lasting ‘All Black Great’.
  • iii) Once in a life player!  Very early to say that he is nothing more than a solid international player. I think Mr Jonny Wilkinson still holds the ‘world best’ title and if Mr Dan Carter wants to contest this crown let him compete for it the same way any other player does.

Having special rules for your kids means you create envy and animosity. Rugby players are only a decade out from the school play ground, why do you think it will be any different? It’s the same when a wrong goes unpunished, if you remove the deterrent then why would any one follow the rule!

The writer of this article must have one unruly house hold, dam fool ! This goes for the NZRU, if this is so !
